Melissa Marback, MD

I am a board-certified obstetrician-gynecologist with over 20 years experience caring for women. While I still enjoy sharing in the excitement and joy of obstetrics and birth, I find as my practice and I have matured, I have discovered new interests in caring for the unique health care needs of women of all ages. Perimenopause and menopause have become more of a focus for me as I work with my patients to develop individualized strategies to meet the opportunities and challenges in this new phase of their lives. Recently, I have begun incorporating bio-identical hormones into my practice and have been pleased with the results.

On a more personal note, I am married and live in the suburbs of Detroit. I have a stepson in college, a daughter in high school, and a son in middle school. Most of my time is spent at work or being a mom, but I also enjoy reading fiction and playing the piano.

My medical degree is from Wright State University School of Medicine in Dayton, Ohio, and I completed my internship and residency at the University of Illinois in Chicago. I have practiced at Providence Hospital since 1992. I was recently honored to receive the 2007 Ob/Gyn Physician’s Excellence Award at Providence, recognizing clinical excellence, dedication to service, commitment to patient care, and outstanding collaboration with nurses.
